A Prayer Worth Imitating

Last week, we turned to John 17 again to see how we can imitate the high priestly prayer in our own prayers to God. Persecuted

Today, we will be continuing last week’s message about the persecution that we can expect as followers of Christ. Last week, we learned that you can count on being the subject of persecution if you’re a true disciple of Jesus because if the world hated Him, the world will hate His followers as well. Today, we will be finishing up chapter 15 of John’s gospel and moving into chapter 16 where we’ll see how the world will treat those who surrender their lives to Christ. We will see how Jesus continues to prepare His disciples for His departure. This is yet another example of the love of Christ, but today, we will be examining how Christians will be persecuted for following the Savior. This is Love

Today, we will be continuing last week’s study in John chapter 15 to look at two more ways that we can emulate the love of Christ. Last week we learned how Jesus is our ultimate example of love as He washed His disciples' feet. We marveled at the humility that He showed because the disciples should have been washing His feet, but when nobody got up to wash feet before the last supper, Jesus took the opportunity to give His disciples an example to follow.
